Christmas Gifts and Stocking Stuffers
…birthday, showers, anniversary, etc

That’s right, we are talking about the somewhat “selfish” gift, that can benefit the gift-giver as much (if not more) as the gift-receiver! We most often do this to our husbands, wives and children, but some of these “hint, hint” gifts even go out to friends! …and let’s be honest, we’ve all received or gifted a selfish gift in the past (tickets for two?)! So let’s put our favorites in writing.

FOR KIDS

Get them the “necessities,” to excite them into getting organized = less responsibility for US!

• Dress: Clothes, coats, bathing suits…they need them anyway, why not wrap them with a bow?
• Organize: New toy bins and fun products like Wear a Pear Shoe Snaps make getting organized fun for kids and easy for you!
• Track: Phones are on every teens wish list, but the benefits to parents (such as being able to track their location) can add up to the cost of new technology!
• Car Seat: It may not seem exciting, but a new car seat makes for a wonderful gift to ask for a first birthday or a new booster seat for a 4th birthday. If you get excited, they will too…making your holiday road trip a fun ride!
• New Bedding: Time to redecorate from a nursery to a “big kid” room? Or toddler to tween? It’s going to have to happen anyway so why not “gift” the transformation. Make it exciting and special and they will appreciate it instead of expect it!

FOR HIM

• 2 Tickets (to anything that you both want to go to): The movies? Concert? Ballet (maybe this is pushing it)?  Vacation?
• Grill: Oh yeah, he wants the latest, greatest and largest…be the hero and think of all the dinners you will get out of cooking!
• Massage oils/Couples Massage: Need we say more?…hint, hint!
• Wine and romance: Lead him into a room of romance and force him to put the phone down. You’ll enjoy the romance and conversation while he’ll enjoy what comes next.

FOR HER

• Intimates or Victoria Secret gift Card: Pretty self explanatory.
• Vacation: Do you prefer a relaxing, all-inclusive cruise without a stressful itinerary? Maybe “gift it,” or else you may spend your holiday traversing European museums and shoe shopping (which sounds pretty great)!
• Mani/Pedi: Luxuries that make any woman feel pampered…and a pampered woman is a happy one.
• Haircut/style: She will be thanking you as she “feels new again!” When a woman feels beautiful, everyone around her wins.
• New Car: This may only happen in movies…but I guess you could justify that new sports car if it is technically for her (or for you to drive her around in)!

For Friends

• 2 Tickets/Or one seat next to yours: You wouldn’t want to go alone and if they like you, they will take you along!
• Spa day: Treat your bestie to a day of bonding and memories, while taking a relaxing break from life yourself!
• Round of Golf: Is he always to busy to join you on the golf course, gift some forced guy time for a competitive escape.
